In contemporary society, almost all domains of human knowledge have to apply Mathematical and computational methods. Mathematics is “sine qua non” in the area of science and technology. With this in view, the Institute of Mathematical Sciences was established in 1995. 

IMS organizes postgraduate degree programmes leading to MSc M.Phil and PhD degrees in Mathematical Sciences for the following Universities:

• University of Ghana, Legon
• Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi
• University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast.

The Institute also organizes Regional Conferences, Workshops and Colleges as a means of strengthening Mathematical Sciences in Africa and promoting Inter Regional Collaboration.
